It’s been a big year for Bigfoot & other mysterious creatures. At the end of 2007 Bigfoot (aka Sasquatch), Chupacabra, UFOs, the Loch Ness Monster, and other strange phenomenon topped search engines for most-searched terms (more here). Clearly we all love a bit of cryptozoology, so here’s a survey all about the spooky, supernatural, and just plain weird critters on (though not necessarily from) Earth!

(If you’re not sure about some of the terms, Wikipedia is your one-stop-shop for definitions.)

1. Do you believe in Bigfoot (or Sasquatch or Yeti)?

2. What do you think Bigfoot is: the missing link, a freak species of man or ape, or something else?

3. Have you ever heard of El Chupacabra?

4. Do you find it amusing that “Chupacabra” translates to “goat sucker”?

5. Have you or anyone you know seen either Bigfoot or Chupacabra?

9. The Jersey Devil: NJ cousin of the Mothman, or something else?

10. Have you or anyone you know seen the Mothman, the Jersey Devil, the Thunderbird, or any other impossibly large bird-like creature?

11. Do you believe the Loch Ness Monster exists?

12. If so, do you think Nessie is a form of dinosaur, or something else?

13. Do you think Nessie is the same creature that also exists in other lakes worldwide, such as Champ in Lake Champlain and Ogopogo in Lake Okanagan?

14. Have you or anyone you know seen a lake monster?

15. Were dragons real?

16. Do they still exist?

17. If so, are they also relatives of dinosaurs, or something else?

18. Are faeries (in all forms—imps, sprites, brownies, etc.) real?

19. Have you or anyone you know had an encounter with faeries?

20. Are UFOs visitors from outer space, i.e. aliens, figments of imagination, government experiments, or something else?

21. If UFOs are aliens, do you think world governments are covering up the truth about their existence?

22. Do you believe something extraterrestrial—alien or otherwise—exists at Roswell, or is it just a military operation?

23. Have you or anyone you know seen a UFO, or had a close encounter with one?

24. Do you believe in any other mysterious creatures not covered in this meme (and if so which ones)?

25. Visit this list on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Cryptids), pick a favorite cryptid, and explain why you chose it.
